Description
4th generation HP LTO4 Ultrium 1.6 TB RW and WORM Data Cartridges offer the highest capacity of any comparable tape technology available, re-inforced by the HP Brand specification – the industry’s most demanding media quality standard. New basefilm and coating technology has increased the bit density of the media, allowing more data to be saved in the same physical space. With 896 data tracks compared to only 704 tracks for Ultrium 3, the capacity of the tape has doubled. In a 4th generation Ultrium tape drive, the media is capable of supporting 240MB/sec transfer rate in compressed mode. HP’s LTO4 media is exhaustively qualified for use with HP and non-HP Ultrium products. A continuous testing program in HP’s media laboratory guarantees the high levels of quality uniquely specified by Hewlett-Packard. This product is ideally suited for data center and departmental back up and restore where capacity, performance and cost are critical. IT managers, consultants and network administrators will see a significant improvement in back up and restore functions, alleviating the pressure of managing an ever increasing quantity of critical data in an ever decreasing backup window.
1.6 TB capacity and 240 MB/sec transfer rate.
- With 1.6 TB capacity and 240 MB/sec transfer rate, HP LTO4 Ultrium 1.6 TB RW Data Cartridges offer the highest storage capacity and backup performance of any tape technology. It takes just 8.3 seconds to backup 1 GB of data to a HP LTO4 cartridge, compared to 12.5 seconds for Ultrium 3 and 33 seconds for Ultrium 2. HP barcode labels use Tri-Optic products to produce labels that will not peel, distort, reflect or fade. Labels are applied professionally, in a clean, controlled environment to prevent backup disruptions and drive damage. RFID custom labels: Operational efficiencies as a result of bulk reading of media and line of sight reading not being necessary. RFID custom labels: Increases the real time visibility of media so the datacenter can quickly recognize a missing tape and thus reduce a chance of data breaches which can incur heavy fines and brand damage.
Smoother base film and smaller magnetic particles allow more data to be recorded in the same amount of tape.
Smoother base film and smaller magnetic particles increase the bit density, allowing more data to be recorded in the same amount of tape. This has enabled the number of recording tracks to increase from 704 for Ultrium 3, to 896 tracks for 4th generation HP LTO4 Ultrium 1.6 TB cartridges. Smoother, thinner basefilm also enables a longer tape to be packed into the same size cartridge shell, contributing to the increased capacity. All HP custom labeled cartridges can be ordered with a unique sequence for the barcode labels. As long as the format allows for it, any sequence can be requested. HP Custom Labeled cartridges can be used in any HP and non-HP LTO Ultrium, DLT and SDLT drives.
Save time in the data centre with HP prelabeled media.
- The last thing IT managers should be worrying about is whose turn it is to bar code label the next set of scratch tapes. HP’s pre-labeled media for Ultrium, DLTtape IV and Super DLTtape allows customers to do more important things. Users can choose their own specific sequences when placing an order. HP will apply their labels in a secure, clean environment and repack tapes with tamper proof seals for complete peace of mind. And there is no extra charge. RFID custom label: provides strong ROI as a result of operational efficiencies.
HP’s Ultrium media is exhaustively qualified for use with HP and non-HP Ultrium products.
HP Ultrium media is exhaustively qualified for use with HP and non-HP Ultrium products. A continuous testing program in HP’s media laboratory guarantees the high levels of quality uniquely specified by Hewlett-Packard. HP has 20 custom-built test chambers in use around the clock. 70,000 tests and 1.3 million test hours a year emulate real-world environmental conditions and usage. The goal of all this testing is to ensure that every tape works reliably the first and every time it is loaded into a drive.
Up to 30 year archival life and/or 260 full back ups.
- HP warrants Ultrium 1.6 TB RW cartridges for up to 30 years archival life and/or 260 full back ups. This ensures businesses can meet the ever increasing demands of regulation for data retention and archiving.
Support for WORM and encryption to help with compliance and data security.
- HP LTO4 1.6 TB data cartridges support native AES 256-bit encryption for increased data security. WORM-format cartridges help businesses comply with key legislation like Sarbox and Basle II.
